Steam generator: This type of equipment has a very small water capacity and it is very difficult to control the addition of chemicals. If more chemicals (especially sodium hydroxide) are added, it is very easy to cause the boiler water alkalinity to be too high, and a lot of foam will be generated, which will lead to steam carrying water (steam and water co rising). Not only the steam is not dry, but also the pipeline may be corroded. Therefore, it is usually recommended to use safer composite scale inhibitors for such devices, and even some modular devices tend to use high-purity softened water or desalinated water directly without adding chemicals.

Food and pharmaceutical industry: If steam comes into direct contact with food or drugs (such as sterilization, steaming), food grade agents must be used, and the purity of the steam must be ensured. If you are concerned about chemical contamination of the product, it is recommended to use a clean steam generator or install a steam filtration device.    

Suggestion: Before deciding what medicine to add, it is best to test the local raw water quality and determine the specific formula and dosage of the medicine according to the recommendations of the equipment manufacturer. After adding medication, it is necessary to cooperate with regular sewage discharge, otherwise the generated dirt cannot be discharged and may even block the pipeline.
